My point is that fascism builds until the root causes and those fanning its flames are rooted out and destroyed ala Napoleon, Mussolini, Hitler; or they burn on and continue to oppress under an authoritarian like Franco, Pinochet or Putin. This is really the worst part of this whole thing. If a ‘normal’ politician with his exact platform had won the election, it wouldn’t feel nearly as bad. It’d still be awful, but not nearly as bad. The fact that he’s getting away with all of this shit, that’s the real kick in the teeth. It’s a complete hemorrhage of justice and it really just hammers home how utterly fucked the system is.
