Except… and aside from the legal FOIA issues… I’d rather have them use Signal. It could’ve been Line, Telegram, WhatsApp or any other compromised messenger.

The military and government have an entire separate Internet for exactly these kinds of discussions. The fact that they resorted to a private app at all is illegal.

Sure I get that. Again I’m not defending them. I’m just commending them for their choice of messenger. Illegal or not.

And besides, I believe in FOSS not in closed source, so-called secret developments. When it comes to cryptography and security, open source is the best way to go.

JD Vance’s whole phone was already hacked by the Chinese state. He’s part of this chat thread.

(Salt Typhoon… They hacked the entire phone system and infiltrated Trump and Vance’s phones.)

Whether it was “signal” or not is missing the bigger context, this fucker is a total buffoon of incompetence because this is time #2 within a short span of time. He literally is stupid.

          No it doesnt.

But there was a simultaneous hack from a person in the US military that proved they had weak passwords and didn’t have 2 factor security on their devices.

Same time that happens, the Chinese were identifying these same devices and those of many others in government. And the official account is “nobody knows how much access they had with their hack.”. This is clearly a very serious hack.

If that wasn’t bad enough, they learned nothing, apparently.
