With you on BotW. Love the dungeons, but in terms of the open world I never felt the oooh, the aaah, the escapism that everyone cooed about etc. Gliding was fun!
Maybe this is because I’ve never played a Zelda game before so I have no nostalgia attached to it?
“separate creator from the art” only works when the creator has passed and no longer benefits from celebrating the art. Arguably not even then.

Maybe I’m a dumb dumb but why are all your posts being downvoted? It’s not an incorrect sub issue, so is it a tone issue e.g saying “don’t downvote” is an invitation to?
Did you anger the village witch or somesuch?
Why am I like this
I guess they just seem like two Queens who stand outside it all and thus see things more clearly idk
I had a mug custom made with her on it so I’m not fit to judge.
Does it help that I had Guinan put on other side? idk
Wow I kinda assumed they’d done so, but looking at the screenshot you’re right
This worked for me:
Start your own subreddit so you’re a mod,
mark it nsfw,
don’t need to post anything
and you should be able to access any nsfw in your feed when off-app.
INCREDIBLE
Clearly this was the desired theme and tone.
Good for them

Great flavour, lots of precedence in stories. But in practice if abilities didn’t give us info/tantalising hints it was a waste of resources, and if it did then we’d skipped over fun adventure story beats.
On the one hand they are a great way for the GM to give you info and hints. On the other hand, they can feel like they short cut’d fun story-rich adventures to libraries and sages and NPCs with secrets we needed to know etc.
I see it going that way too, which means you’re incentivised to use them to scout by design and disincentivised to use them to scout by practice.
It’s not bad design, per se, it just feels…a bit flat, a bit clunky, a bit meh
There’s something fundamentally fun about the fact that even in tier4 with god like arcane powers, most of the time the wizard Has To Go To The Place To Do The Thing. Maybe that’s why Simulacrum inspires the same feeling, that it’s powerful but is it fun?
Um, can’t we let kids be friends?
I love that, good on you both for finding something that works for your table
Love reflavouring spells and abilities as plant-kinesis (phutokinesis?). If they won’t give us a plant bender we’ll make our own
It’s a tone that can be hard to play well, it’s easy to become Lawful Cautious or Party Dad, but you seem to have navigated it artfully
The wildshape options may be labyrinthine but options like the Giant Toad are so fun
If anyone’s got any recs for puzzle games / platform puzzlers / detective’y / room escape’y games on sale I’d love to hear
