It was the age of consent at the time wasn’t it? I think it’s 16 now and changed only a few years ago.

I live in the states. I don’t travel. But I read… Like hey did you see that Japan changed their laws to change the age of consent… Well btw they did. And it wasn’t that long ago and you know made the news.

As for weather that’s contextually morally right for them to do as far as sexualization of … I didn’t actually comment just pointed out how no matter the age there will almost always be something just on the edge of accepted boundariess. I have nothing to do with that. Just not oblivious.

            Which is obviously fucked up.

The point isn’t if it was “legal”, but instead “ethical”.

Even if a country allows you to be with a 13yo, it is fucked up.

He essentially said: "it’s a fine show, no problems, because the relationship was legal! " When referring to a 14yo

To me it seemed more like he was explaining why teens and kids are so sexualized in anime in general.

Because it was the age of consent and enough Japanese anime/manga creators are okay with that enough to put it in pretty much everything

Whenever I go out of town on business, I like to do my research on where I’m going. Local hotspots, the bar scene, age of consent, make the best of my time.

You probably won’t get this reference, but then I posted it for me, not you.
