… as a TV show, right? Right?

Or whatever his name is.
I’d prefer a documentary series.
The Luigi Files: Part 1
Repeat after me, New Yorkers: I’ve never heard that name before. Is that a Tendo game?
Yes, nobody would be that insane to think otherwise…maybe even a reality TV show type of deal would be cool.
“Coming this fall: ten billionaires are locked in a house with a murderous psychopath. Who will be the first victim, and who make it to the end? Use your phone to vote each week on what weapons the murderer will have access to! Introducing: Bigger Brother! Only on cable!”
So it would be 10 sociopath against 1 murderous psychopath? Whatever the end result would be, it sounds like a win!
I’d watch it.
Right, and that will happen because TV shows aren’t produced by billionaire-owned media corporations.
Star Wars: Andor is made and produced by fucking Disney. Squid Games was produced by Netflix.
Never underestimate the ability of capitalism to commodify anything and everything, even the dissent of the system.
But Cops is currently on it’s 37th season.
Wasn’t that cancelled?
the show was later picked up by Fox Nation, a streaming service from Fox News Media, and the 33rd season premiered on October 1, 2021
Ah. On-brand for them.
Or we could free Luigi, and get the real thing!
Current world record holder on the highscore
But Luigi is innocent
This is why I now advocate for a Mamdani/Mangione 2028 presidential ticket.
I know he can’t run for president right now but, maybe we can break the rules for the benefit of the people some day.
Luigis Mansion: A TV show about a mansion filled with kidnapped billionaires. Sprinkle some inspiration from the Saw movies on top, and we’ve got a hit.
That’s a good idea for a ‘dystopian’ thriller book
I’d fuckin watch that.
Mr robot came close i suppose.
Honestly it has a lot of anti-late-stage-capitalism ideas but the core of the show isn’t even really about that. It’s a very good show, I’d recommend it to anyone.
First 2 seasons of Arrow were like this. But yes I would watch the shit out of it. Make it a law and order style straight from the headlines and make the rich people resemble real life rich people.
Go all out and get Dick Wolf behind this. “Law and Order: Vigilante Justice” where the cops are all inept but there is a dedicated team of New Yorkers working together to bring justice to the streets of America.
Call it the Super Mario Super Show
Loved the first seasons of Arrow. The crossover episodes with Flash were great.
'You failed this city!"
The first 2 seasons of Arrow were so damn good.
Oh, a TV show. I thought you meant for real. Also, isn’t ’evil rich’ kind of redundant?
The news is on TV im not very picky
The protagonist was a rich guy too. A more socially conscious one, but still a rich guy.
Well you got to have resources im fine with rich on rich violence maybe we could put it into an arena of some sort.
RobinKillin Hood(Cuz he be killin’ instead of robbin’)
*Killian
I’d watch this show.
Oh, right. A show. Of course.
I honestly wouldn’t. Not because I disagree with the concept, but because more on-point escapist media would just ensure that people will get their revolutionary fix without ever leaving the couch. We don’t need that. We need people to be angry, to be fed up, to have no other escape than to fight for it.
Capitalism has done wonders at keeping us sedated by selling us our fantasies of change and better days. It’s time we stopped taking those meds.
My only argument against this idea, which a part of me supports, is we need to start pushing forward our own propaganda against the billionaire class to get more people on board with the movement. And entertainment is an avenue for propaganda to achieve this.
Actions speak louder than words, and all the shows follow is a script. Reality is much more interesting than anything Netflix or Amazon can show us.
Let’s make it even more interesting, then!
Things is, true revolutionary effort is far from exciting or interesting.
It’s literally just getting involved in local politics and forming lobbying groups with like minded people. It’s boring shit getting together with your local community to bitch about what needs to be done, how y’all will acquire the resources to get it done, and delegate who is going to do it.
Yet, that’s how all of society functions. The biggest issue with today’s society is how isolated from this process people are. We go to work and go home without ever being involved in the things that control our workplaces and homes.
This is very true, but people still need a significant push to get there. They still need to first be angry enough to not want to take it anymore, before they start looking into what can actually be done.
I think being angry enough to kill someone may be the top.
And I think Luigi would have done nothing had he stayed submerged in escapism, is my point.
But he didn’t do anything. Luigi and the guy in the security camera look nothing alike.
Luigi was at my house playing Xbox all day that day.
Call him Luigi
