I really hated Rogue Trader at first. Skills in Pathfinder just seemed to have more visual impact, whereas RT was just stat and percentage changes. And it was hard not to exploit some of those skills. “Pogo-stick of Death” was 24 hits in one round.
But I absolutely love the WH40k novels, and it definitely played like one of the books.
Owlcat doesn’t always land perfect game play, but they do know the material they work with and tell some good stories.
