I first reckoned with being old when good music started occasionally popping up on corporate store radio. I don’t mean like, classic good shit, I mean, my childhood good shit. My job where I stack boxes all day sometimes plays nickleback or imagine dragons, or that one linkin park song that doesn’t sound like a linkin park song. Makes me feel OLD, because only OLD PEOPLE like the music played on corporate store radio (because it’s picked by management who are all OLD PEOPLE).
Thats so true.
I am all of these people.
Yes.
All the civil engineers hoping not to build anymore resorts and just wanting to retire.
I hope I live long enough to experience this scenario.
Man why you gotta do us like that Oatmeal
I’m in this and I don’t like it
F*ck, I’m old.
Fuck, me too.
I was ready to say “I don’t get it, is this just a fat shaming joke?” And then I thought about it more.
Statistically, the US is fat, so drawing fat people isn’t inherently fat shaming.
This is a joke about how my generation is old. We just also happen to be mostly fat people.
The artist generally draws fat characters, even himself…while describing why he runs ultra marathons.
Alchemist/chemist “This is my last retort!”
