Time to dust off the crowbar
Time to dust off the crowbar
My parents, in their 70s, started receiving a guaranteed income supplement (they’re Canadian). They’re still poor, but finally they can afford the basics of survival without having to work full time.
It’s such a huge change.
Let them spend some time in the freezer. There’s still a chance they could be used in pancakes or dog biscuits…
I mean I’d rather not die gasping for breath
You’ve got me there
Raisins in cookies is high tier. It’s got the sweet and the chew
There is nothing that cinnamon can’t improve though
Curse you, I came in here so excited to make this comment
Read the room, Satan… It’s not a good time
I know that a downed power line is very visible, especially if it’s live and touching water! I wonder if it’s underground if you might miss the signs
I know it’s totally backwards, but I feel weird when I go to a neighborhood that doesn’t have above ground lines.
I think you got it. The op was probably fixating on the biggest impact that they can see, but that’s going to vary by community and who is reading this.
Also huge shocker, diverse groups of people also need to be mindful of this shit.
It’s the reason good “DEI” policies are important. If you just start hiring people from more diverse backgrounds (good) then have them land in a toxic work environment with 0 support (bad) then they’re not likely to thrive.
If you’re especially non-confrontational, then even the first one, or 0 reaction, can do. Just don’t do the polite chuckle. They’ll think it landed.
I have to work really hard not to laugh myself, and instead let it be awkward.
Haha as always, you do what you can
Bunch of ragged trousered philanthropists
Or god forbid, a person of colour. Clearly the US isn’t “ready” for that.
/s but also not /s idk honestly, it depends
How do you like it? I tried it a few years ago, but my vim muscular memory made it feel as uncomfortable as learning vim for the first time.
Yeah like the average person has never heard of enshitification. It’s not even an established concept in their mind.
They may have a vague sense that things are getting shittier on the big platforms, but probably don’t even consider smaller platforms or decentralization as solutions
