Any past POTUS who would have said or done a thousand of what this demented orange peel says and does would have been impeached faster than you can say “Does that guy sound fascist or is it just me?”

How is this madman still in office? How is that even possible?

I’ll take your question as serious.

As we don’t have parliamentarian procedures such as votes of no confidence, the only option is removal via impeachment. With such sharp partisan divides, the GOP having unified control and the rich having a vested interest in keeping this dead horse of an economy alive, that’s not a realistic option.

There are two options for getting out of this mess. One involves the folks with guns who like this direction for now. The other is the midterms. Grassroots (and I mean that, not astroturfing) efforts appear to have garnered several Democratic candidates who are wildly to the left of the current American Overton window.

Trump has essentially been constructing rope. The irony here is too obvious to insult anyone by pointing out.

Are the rich actually benefiting from Trump’s chaos? Perhaps a few of the super-rich are, but most depend on a functioning economy to stay rich, and Trump keeps throwing spanners in the works.

I guess what I meant was, how do even GOP critters stand for this? It’s supposed to be the party of law and order, and they behave like servile little yes-men fascist enablers.

I’ve never had any great love of the Republican party, but even I admit that the staunchest traditional Republicans had 10 times more morals and principles than those MAGA asswipes and would have done something about their rogue fascist racehorse with the Democrat minority. The current crop of fake Republican magats is appalling. That’s what’s truly unbelievable.

The important thing to bear in mind is these are RINOs. They’re Nazis cosplaying as Republicans. The party of Goldwater headed for the exits long ago (source: my staunchly Republican father who now votes straight Democratic, as he – in his 80s – can’t recognize what the GOP has become), and we’re now left with “Hey, let’s help IG Farben … surely it’ll trickle down.”

This has been a long time coming, and most of the decent ones chose to resign rather than split the party. I remember for instance years ago when the far right really started winning elections in Idaho, a lot of the lifelong conservatives chose to resign in quiet protest rather than fight them or try and work with them.

It’s basicly the same thing you’re seeing in the federal government now, a lot of the people would rather resign than deal with him, and as such he gets to fill the roles with his loyalists without a fight.
