Not liking this trend, what with FlyingSquid’s exit. Damn shame, but if leaving is better for their peace of mind, then I can only hope it’s for the best.
But… Tenforward isn’t that way, and someone can always go elsewhere to other instances or even other platforms - e.g. I’m over here on PieFed:-). I did consider leaving myself if I couldn’t block all the political posts from Lemmy.ml prior to the USA election, so I’m glad PieFed gave me the option to stay.
In any case, I hope Stamets finds peace irl by touching grass (and I very much hope he returns someday after that!:-).
Yeah, blocking certain people and instances certainly has made my life on Lemmy better. There is likely more to it than just that. I wish him well also and also hope for his eventual return.
It looks like he auto-deleted everything. I wish he had been able to leave up the last post so we could read it. I suppose we aren’t entitled to it but it would have been nice if it had worked out that way:-).
