Serbia's populist government is facing increased public scrutiny over reports that it used a sonic weapon against a peaceful crowd during a massive anti-corruption rally in the capital, Belgrade, on March 15.

How it works is that a coil is charged with high enough voltage that it generates an electromagnetic field which keeps it from disintegrating until the voltage drops below the threshold such as coming into contact with an object.
