Summary

Trump signed an executive order imposing 25% tariffs on Canadian and Mexican imports—excluding Canadian energy at 10%—plus additional duties on Chinese products.

In response, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a 25% duty on $155 billion in U.S. goods, beginning with $30 billion in tariffs Tuesday.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum indicated reciprocal tariffs, rejecting claims that Mexico tolerates criminal groups trafficking fentanyl and insisting on respect for sovereignty.

Experts warn these tit-for-tat measures could drive up costs, disrupt supply chains, and mirror the previous U.S.-China trade war, possibly harming security.

too busy keeping an eye on our own fifth column, and potential collaborators/quislings should things go “there” .

Considering Trump’s reaction to retaliation against his own divine authority, is to flip the fuck out and escalate.

        “HOW DARE YOU RESIST”

I know this is a joke but some points that should be made. that loophole got patched a long time ago. its not that simple. Married spouses can sponsor for PR. But the PR system works off a point system, and may not necessarily be granted PR. You have to have PR for several years. (I think its as high as 7) before you can apply for citizenship.

furthermore, Americans should know, That unless you rescind your American citizenship. (which costs a lot of money, they make it prohibitavely expensive). The United States does not recognize dual citizenship. They dont care if you’re the King of Sweden. if you are an american citizen, that overrides all others. and they will consider you subject to their laws, juristiction, and prosecution. (and ask you be extradited if need be)

Its not a joke, I am 100% serious.

I am disabled and live off of SSDI.

          Spent most of 2023 homeless.

Maybe I would only qualify for residency via marrying a Canadian, but if Trump cuts back SSDI, in addition to all the economic damage he’s going to cause to the US economy, I will die starving, on the street.

As of right now, its still possible to recieve SSDI while living abroad… but who knows what will happen.
