  • American Gods, Rings of Power, Good Omens, the Expanse, Man in the high castle, the Last of us, etc etc.

It’s not always as good of a selection as other services, but it’s got a fair few gems on there and a good amount of back catalogue films and tv shows that are fab :-)

And the fact that they collect so much stuff that would otherwise not be available at all (usually because its only on some random foreign streaming service and refuses to work with netflix) is where they really shine.

That said, I immediately stopped using it when they brought adverts in to the paid subscription. I’m not paying to watch adverts, sorry, no.

  • Haha yeah that stuff is great :-) Bonding at its finest!

Not quite the same thing but reminds me of how my father would always tell me I have hollow legs, on account of the huge amounts I’d eat whilst remaining skinny. I mean, I’d have a proper big evening dinner, then a bit later a microwave lasagne, then another microwave meal, and maybe a bar or two of fruit and nut chocolate, and never put any fat on xD

    Growing teenagers for ya :P

  • I’ve been binge watching the fever dreams (⊙ᴗ⊙)

I’m mostly worried about my mother, I caught it from my father (somehow, after seeing him like once last week in passing) and even though he isolated from her once he knew he had it, she tested positive yesterday too, …and she’s due to go on her first big trip abroad in her ENTIRE LIFE in like 4 days to Paris (we’re a bit lower class haha), supposed to be a big special once in a lifetime treat from her daughter, planned it for a year now :-(

First time any of us have caught it too, my father is in the high risk category (twice over) so we’ve generally been careful this whole time, and we’ve been getting the boosters (ironically this year’s booster became available TODAY) but ya know it was going to happen eventually…

But enough of my story of extremely bad timing, glad to hear you recovered without and lasting negative effects :-)

  • It sounds a little novel if nothing else, I hope it picks up :-)

Man, all business/capitalism/personality-politics stuff aside, it must suck to be a developer, artist, writer, actor etc on something for years, pour your heart into it for a solid percentage chunk of your remaining lifespan on this Earth, and then have it fall flat.

Especially if it’s not so much the thing you made, but stuff outside of your control that’s holding it back. Lacklustre marketing for example - I hadn’t even heard of this.

  • To be fair it’s been less than a day, one of the great things about internet messaging is how asynchronous it can be, it’s great for calming anxieties about needing to come up with a reply immediately like if you’re on the phone or something x.x

You’re right though, I don’t reply to things often enough, partly because I’m very sick with COVID at the moment but also a lot of it is my social anxiety and fear of rejection.

I get so scared of what people might say that I avoid looking at the replies, even when I initially reach out because I want to interact with people and form connections ><

It’s one of my big problems that I need to overcome, I’m still working out how to tackle it, but I do know it’s a problem, and it’s mine to solve.

Alas I can’t afford things like therapy, so I just have to stumble around trying to figure my ADHD, possibly autistic (wish I could get seen for a diagnosis…), anxious, dumb ass brain out 😅

I’m sorry in the mean time for being a bit annoying, I don’t mean to be on purpose :-)

  • Haha yes! I think we all reach a point in our lives when we truly become adults, and it’s when we realise that adults who didn’t understand our lingo and were embarrassing actually:

    1. Understood more of it than they let on,
    2. Used it incorrectly around younger people for a laugh, or to help bolster the kid’s confidence (the kid gets a little “omg that adult doesn’t know what blorpitybloo means! I’m so much more cultured than they are” boost).
    3. Realised that every generation has their language “thing”, and we don’t necessarily have to keep up with the latest word on the street to be fulfilled, or to connect meaningfully with the younger generations.

  • I found stardew relaxing! Especially, strangely enough, how it doesn’t try to grip your attention too hard.

Like, it lets you feel like it’s okay to just put it down for as long as you like to do other life things then come back to it whenever you’re ready _

Check out the “You suck at cooking” YouTube channel, it’s not actually for people who are terrible at cooking haha but it’s a very well produced, witty series of recipes that are simple to follow and usually teaches me a thing or 2 along the way :-)

And the videos aren’t any longer than they need to be, which is refreshing!

  • Hello fellow Western capitalist nation citizen, it is I, a relatable friend colleague of David! David will vouch for me, what a capital guy!

So, me and the boys (David’s idea, you know what he’s like) thought it might be pretty radical to scooby over to our local air force base and take some cool photos of us doing kick flips with their buildings and infrastructure in the background.

We think it would look totally tubular and really show those capitalist pig dogs (who we outwardly claim to love otherwise the secret police present in every Western nation will disappear us and our families, something we deny, but other nations with better intelligence services who don’t lie to the great people of their glorious nation educate their populace about) what we think of their money war machine.

Oh! And then we can up post the photographs immediately to TikTok for the klout points!

What do you say, are you in, Breve? David said you’d be in.
