It’s been so long between the last time I saw Firefly or Serenity and when I started watching Dark Matter (only a few months ago), the comparison didn’t even occur to me.
There is some overlap, but IMHO not much more than any other “rag tag group of fugitives on a powerful ship” sci fi. Speaking of which, only after I posted did I think “oh, I forgot to find a role for Avon from Blake’s 7.”

As much as I love Tim, isn’t he a tad long in the tooth to be starting a TOS reboot? Like, a whole generation older than Shatner was at the start of TOS?
Right for playing a guy who’s decided who he is and calmed down a bit, but not for a thrusting young captain who nails every green chick in sight.

14·6 days agoI don’t think so by this point. All the “no one is safe!” stories are a way of saying “They’re even deporting white people?!?”
ICE has been given a daily quota, and they’ll deport anyone that can help them make that quota.
IIRC Virginia Hey, Zhaan in Farscape, kept having to wear that blue body paint 6-8 months a year until she got kidney problems from it and quit the show.
