I would like to tell you that some people can’t see bios on Lemmy (example: I am on Connect and it does not show up). Not capitalizing pronouns is convention in English except when using “I” since it’s one letter or (apparently from a quick search) when referring to god / a higher power. People aren’t misgendering or being disrespectful, it’s just how English works

In my quick searching, I can’t find much info on it. It seems that he made it in response to the idea that there were Greek gods that were concerned with humanity’s wellbeing and actively took a positive part in our existence. His ideas don’t apply to one religion or even try to say that there is no god, rather he is just saying that the gods are too busy / unconcerned with humanity’s wellbeing which was not the common view of the period.

On a somewhat unrelated note I have a Ukrainian classmate who had to return to Ukraine to renew his passport (they suspended consular services outside Ukraine). He has about 2 weeks before turning 18 and being legally banned from leaving the country. Hope the best for him

People who aren’t good at presentation making think that they are supposed to convey absolutely everything they are saying and be crammed full of information. I was doing a group presentation sometime ago where my group members insisted I put paragraphs of info in my slides and were worried we would fail for not enough information. Even after explaining that they were meant to guide the audience in what I was going to say, they insisted that it was wrong
