  • None of the stuff they’re doing yet is stuff that can be blocked by the president, most of it is happening in right wing courts and the supreme court that Trump/conservatives rammed a conservative majority into

If trump gets elected there are more things he can push through, and they won’t have to worry about a veto if they try to pass an actual law rather than using court rulings. Republicans put a lot of time and planning into this project 2025 planning, it’s not just some ultra right winger dudes in a house throwing stuff together, it’s a lot of political and legal experts working together and putting a lot of time and effort into planning these things and figuring out how to force each of them into existence in ways that can’t be blocked or stopped

I don’t like Biden and would prefer basically any other left candidate, but if Trump gets elected there is a lot more that they can do without fear of it being blocked. That’s why they’re not doing all of these right now, they’re just getting things in place to do them day 1 if Trump gets elected

  • They get smaller to show that they’re further away in the background not that they get infinitely small. If they were actually getting smaller, then sure, I grab an electron microscope, look at a field of levers, zoom until I see one, and pick that one, then somehow throw an electron sized lever, move to the next, smaller, physics defying lever group and just wait for quantum mechanics to do it’s thing I guess

  • This would apply if I had to pick based on the set of levers in each group. By picking the first one I see I get out of the muck of pure math, I don’t care about the set as a whole, I pick the first lever I see, lever x. Doesn’t matter if it’s levers -10 to 10 real numbers only, my lever x could be lever -7, the set could be some crazy specific set of numbers, doesn’t matter I still pick the first one I see regardless of all the others in the set.

Pure math is super fun, but reality is a very big loophole

  • Religious extremists: everyone should follow my religion, beliefs, morals, and rules or be punished

Atheistic extremists: religion is dumb and should not have their beliefs taught as facts (creationism not evolution, etc), but people can believe what they want. Also, don’t give religious people preferential treatment (tax-free churches, absolved of crimes for being a “good Christian”, etc)

I think “you must believe only my stuff” is intolerant, but “believe what you want, just don’t push it on others” is only intolerant because religion wants to be pushed on everyone else

My MIL went full plant based (vegan but also only raw or minimally processed foods, doesn’t even eat tofu or olive oil if she can avoid it) after watching some documentary on Netflix and it is her entire personality now, including trying to force it on my wife I who already eat vegetarian 95% of the time (everything at home is vegetarian, occasionally eat meat out if none of the vegetarian options sound good) primarily for environmental and health reasons. Every time we visit her she makes some snide and not even veiled remarks about us still occasionally eating meat and still eating dairy, her favorite is referring to any sort of cheese as “congealed cow puss”.

She also 100% believes it can cure diabetes, Alzheimers, dementia, and cancer in a matter of months and that meat and dairy cause autism.
