Sounds like a smart guy. He gets meat AND all your dried goods!
I’m just a guy, my dudes.

Shhhh you just described iterative development. Careful not to be pro agile, or the developers with no social skills will start attacking you for being a scrum master in disguise!
It feels like the goal is to get you married to one platform, and the big players are happy for that to be them. As someone who’s used Keepass for over a decade, the whole thing seems less flexible than my janky open source setup, and certainly worse than a paid/for profit solution like bitwarden.
Jesus Christ stop spamming the same regurgitated Marxist post everywhere. At least reformulate your “socialism is the solve to everything!” post in a couple ways, or just only post it once per thread.
Trump is definitely not a “figurehead only”. He is a tiger that what’s left of the Republican establishment has by the tail. They did not want him to win the primary again, they all hate him, and are just trying to get whatever judicial appointments and erosion of regulations they can out of him. Anyone who thinks Trump is a puppet is absolutely blind to American politics. He is an absolute wildcard that everyone is trying to react to, a whirlwind that folks hope they can push in the direction they want to destroy the things they want, but they are equally aware they can fall out of grace and be fired in two weeks like everyone in his last administration.
Only been a tradition for 50 years. Relatively young compared to the age of many political dealmakers.
Just learned I was funded by rich people. Did I miss a paycheck somewhere?
-an actual economist, telling you deflation is bad
That’s total debt, he’s talking about individual debt. Deflation is bad. This is not really up for debate. 2% inflation is a fine target and worked well for decades.
This guy fucking gets it. Let’s go with hobbies. Show your kids passion and a love of learning, the ability to have fun, and wrap it all in in emotional support and love and everything will be fine. I have an office with a bunch of nerd projects and we’re building out the basement workshop. My 3 year old already “helps” me build stuff and I hope that only increases. Mom has a second husband of her job in athletics, so kiddo is learning about normalizing hard work and athletic endeavors, visits Mommy’s office and weight room, etc.
The meme is funny. A lot of this conversation is definitely not, glad there’s some reasonable takes down here.
The issue is a lot of teetotalers don’t drink anything because of their existing health conditions, really bad obesity, hypertension, liver problems, etc. So those that don’t drink at all are actually less healthy than the average population, and those that drink in moderation are obviously healthier than those who drink a lot. So the results look like moderate drinking is the most healthy but there’s an (or a lot of) omitted variable bias.
It’s worth noting that not only did I not have to create this meme, I didn’t have to Google that hard to find it.
Plastics may degrade, but (as others have mentioned) if a plastic one lasts 10+ years
Micro plastics can be released as soon as a water bottle is first filled. This isn’t the structural integrity of the plastic failing, it’s your endocrine system and who knows what else being affected by tiny pieces of plastic that start shedding immediately.
Look, I’m not saying this isn’t a cash grab because the serial inventor who made the aero press sold a controlling stake in his company and the new firm is squeezing as much money out as they can before the patent expires, BUT some of us do care about micro plastics. Not that I give my daughter coffee, but now that I have a toddler we’ve eliminated as much food related plastic as we can.
Stuff is genuinely damaging and yet we keep using it because it’s convenient. And people wonder why the Romans used lead containers.
What’s crazy is “Fred” used to mean the exact, literal opposite. It’s the only word I know of that has come to mean the full opposite of what it meant (except maybe “literally”, but that’s usually used for emphasis)
Fred used to mean the dude who showed up in jeanshorts on a huffy, who everyone was like “are you sure you want to join the group ride?”, and then he ends up pulling the pack the whole way. Somewhere along the line it ended up meaning dentist, which is the slow dude who buys all the expensive gear. I literally don’t understand it.
I just replaced the honk in my car today, so I can assure you they very much do.
In related news, Subaru has yet to do a recall on a very important safety device going bad, despite the Internet being awash with 2016-2018 Outbacks having bad clocksprings. At least it’s a relatively easy fix.
Ah, gotcha. Well, best of luck. I’ll let you know what I think when my beta invite comes in. Still waiting.
Have you looked at direct integration with Garmin Connect? My guess is they and probably Fitbit have the huge majority of the market.
I’m actually dumb and my Garmin tracks my steps, so I DO know exactly how many I take (27,689 weekly). Damn I need to use my treadmill desk more consistently. That’s low.
I saw in other comments wearables don’t work. That’s kind of a bummer. I like to leave my phone charging on my desk and let the watch track.
I signed up, happy to try it out and give feedback. No idea what my average number of steps is because I don’t super care about that, but I’d expect it to go way up if I suddenly did care (through a gamified app).
Everyone calling it a shooter MOBA is right, but more basically: It’s Smite. It’s just Smite, but good. I played the Smite 2 alpha and it was very lame, no verticality, gunplay felt bad. Deadlock has an original theme, gunplay feels tight, and there is clearly a huge skill ceiling. I don’t know if it’s 100% yet, which tracks cuz it’s an alpha, but it’s already better than Smite and I have faith they’ll make it better.
Yeah I don’t understand how this is different than headscale, but I’m very much not savvy on the pipes and tubes that make the Internet go round. Can anyone explain?
