It’s not, but do you think we’re giving away cutting edge military tech or not developing that cutting edge tech that obsoletes the stuff we’re giving away regardless? It doesn’t really have a lot of value to the US rotting away in warehouse storage.
Note that I’m not saying this in support of Israel nor am I well enough informed to know if this even applies there. It definitely applies to Ukraine aid, though.
Cheating on his wife was reprehensible, but not really impeachment-worthy. Did it make any difference in his ability to govern? Nope. But sure, if it didn’t happen in his second term, I’m not going to say you shouldn’t have been allowed to consider it for whether or not you should vote for his reelection.

It’s normally a desirable thing being done to an undeserving party, which is exactly the colloquial use of the metaphor and why it’s used in a negative context. I don’t have a problem with sucking dick, personally.
There’s nothing inherently gay about sucking dick. And yeah, Witcher 3 was definitely buggy on launch, particularly for consoles what with the crashing, and while it was marginally more stable on PC (sounds familiar, right?), there was a massive controversy about them silently downgrading PC graphics between the trailers and launch.
Sometimes it feels like people had the entirely unrealistic expectation that they were going to be landing on Planet Skyrim and wander around a handcrafted world full of quests. And then have a completely new experience of the same scale on the rest of the 999 planets.
It was clearly put in to play interspersed with the questlines and for some endgame looting, but some people wanted to be able to just wander planets endlessly as if it could possibly have the scale of content that would make it worth playing like that. Maybe they’ll come back when modding lets them insert hundreds of new POI prefabs off the workshop into the procgen pool.
So was Witcher 3 at launch, but that doesn’t stop all the people with goldfish memory from sucking its dick either.
Cyberpunk’s launch shouldn’t even have been that much of a surprise. People set their expectations for Cyberpunk’s launch based on Witcher 3 after it had years of post-launch work put into it, not based on how Witcher 3 launched.
That last bit is particularly true. Every game I play doesn’t need to be the best game I’ve ever played for me to enjoy it.
I mean, I actually like the game, but I will say that anyone that thought it deserved GOTY awards is delusional and presumably in a tiny minority to think it. It wasn’t even plausible that it would even win best RPG when it came out the same year as Baldur’s Gate 3. Starfield may not be a terrible game, but it’s definitely not great either. It’s thoroughly mediocre.
There’s a distinction between intelligence and sentience.
The stuff impressing people right now only has a tiny short term memory and no way of really transferring that short term memory to long term memory, so it’s definitely not something you can characterise as sentience.
It is definitely intelligence, though, since it can draw from a very large pretrained set of knowledge with deep relational connections.
Zelenskyy has also tried to bully us, for example blocking gas pipelines from Russia to the EU and then blaming it on the Russians. I get it since they’re on the defensive and desperate to protect their home, but it’s still obnoxious since we should be and already are supporting them. That being said, Ukraine isn’t also bombing refugee camps full of innocent people. The EU also really needs to ween off of Russian fossil fuels anyway. The Israel-Hamas conflict, by contrast, reeks of ESH and I wish we weren’t so invested in either side.
EDIT: Just making it clear for those that didn’t read the above very closely: Ukraine deserves support. It just doesn’t change the fact that Zelenskyy has tried to twist arms for that support, for better or worse.

I think it runs almost playably out of the box, so I would imagine it would work actually playably with a few mods, e.g. to adjust settings not accessible through graphics presets and to enable disk I/O cache.
