Thinkpads are a safe choice. I have the same use case as OP and i use one. Battery last 7-8h of light use, plenty for a plugless day’s work.

Thinkpad x1 carbon gen 6, or if you’re willing to up your budget a bit, a x13 is also a great fit.

I’m fairly sure at this point even using a Debian based distro is better than sticking to windows 7.

I understand, but my point is that MacOS is more than serviceable as a work-focused operating system. It is more than capable to replace Windows as long as you’re willing to accept a different work flow.

If you’re already on Linux then great, stay there. But the average consumer wants something easier to use, and MacOS is easy. More importantly, it doesn’t treat you like garbage like Windows does.

No, it’s Google changing their algorithm to feed you AI slop.

The first page and a half of Google results now is just AI-generated comparison websites. That’s by design.
