I know it might be an unpopular opinion over here, but I feel that’s still an acceptable price. Music is honestly the only media where I just can’t see myself going back to piracy again, because the comfort and ability to discover new music is just pretty much impossible to achieve without a streaming service… unfortunately

Aren’t those two separate things though? There’s humble choice, which is basically what you describe, although you can just subscribe for a month if you’re interested in the games and then immediately cancel your subscription. There’s also a handful of regular bundles at any given time that are not linked to any subscription at all

My guess would be that heavily discounted games might be getting an advantage by the steam recommendation algorithm. So they’d rather go for 99,99 and constantly discount it instead of starting with 4,99
