An interesting tidbit to highlight my point. The first incandescent light bulb was patented in Canada, and Edison bought the patent. Still, as Canadians, we recite the US propaganda that Edison invented it. We know more about America than we do about ourselves, (and most of what we know about America is false) because we keep highlighting the US instead of highlighting Canadian achievements, even in a community that is labelled ‘Canada’. This would never happen to any site in the US. We need to start promoting CANADA on a site labeled ‘Canada’.

For example, the largest IBM manufacturing assembly plant in the WORLD for their semiconductors is in Quebec. How many Canadians know that? Part of the insidiousness, Canadians know more about America than we do about ourselves, and this CANADIAN site doesn’t do very much to change that. Most posts on Canadian sites still carry the undertone of American dominance in Canadian affairs and economy.

And every one of them has been insidiously inundated with American culture. Generally, the talk is all about how America is affecting Canada. That s a tacit acknowledgement of this insidious creep.

China is now the largest and most influential economy on the planet, not the US, but I don’t see China’s cultural influence everywhere.

And exactly how would I stop this American cultural creep into it, except by continuous moderation and filtering out all cases of it? It is in the nature of Americans to spread their culture into all mass media, digital is just an extension of this.

Sorry, but the term is ‘AMERICAN’ citizen. But I agree, the United States of America has appropriated the label ‘America’ to exclusively refer to them. That is exactly the insidious creep I am talking about.

It is currently mostly about how America is influencing Canada, or what the implcation of Trump’s Presidency will be on Canada. It is still American culture being discussed.

The problem is, EVEY community seems to have been inundated with American culture, even the ostensibly Canadian community. It is insidious in the sense that the main topic of discussion is about what is happening in America. That is the cultural creep.

I did not look at the time stamp, just that it seemed more appropriate to my post than the one it showed up under.

Except that most Chinese would never use the name ‘Jesus Christ’. That is a strictly Western thing.

Few people in America accept it. The rest of the world, yeah they believe it and are acting on it.

And this s why China is now the world’s largest economy, GDP-PPP, and now has a standard of living far in excess of the US. China built more miles of high speed railway every year than the US has total.

Yet instead of trying to keep up with China, the typical American buries their head in the sand and WISHES it were not true. Well, wishing and populist propaganda is not going to help much, except ease the pain for Americans.

But no worries, China will soon own most of American manufacturing, and start up the American plants again, using cheap slave-wage American workers, to supply the huge Chinese domestic and export market, just like Haier bought out General Electric Appliance Division and is now using American plants and cheap labor to assemble made-in-China parts to service the American markets with allegedly made-in-America-but-in-reality Chinese appliances, all profits going back to China. Just got to love those Trump tariffs. The Chinese are using their tariff income to buy bankrupt American manufacturing.

I am not convinced Paul had much to do with it. Fact is, the congregations Paul wrote to seemed to be very well established. Paul just kept them informed and in line. It was arguably John the Baptist that set up the infrastructure of the religious order that Jesus appropriated. In point of fact, it is contentious as to who died first, Jesus or John the Baptist. History is written by the winning side, and Jesus just happened to be on the winning side. It could just as easily have been ‘Baptistianity’.

Constantine ‘converted’ because his empire was crumbling militarily, and so he switched to using ‘religion’ instead of ‘statehood’ to protect the Roman Empire.

Was this a misplaced response to my post?

Humans are a herd animal. It is in our genetics, our genes, our nature, to follow a pack leader. Religion was the method of establishing this pack leader well before we had any notion of ‘nation’ or ‘statehood’ or ‘ethnic identity’. All religions are founded in their basic concept based on this natural human herd instinct. And like any herd, the leadership is always determined by some violent confrontation between leadership contenders to determine which person will be the alpha, or dominant, leader. Unfortunately, humans tend to forget that we are animals in our nature, and behave just like all other animals, except that we are just a bit more intelligent than many other species and a lot more aggressively competitive.

So with this in mind, humans were bound by nature to have religion, and to be lead by a religious leader (before we invented statehood, after the Peace of Westphalia). Basically, the only choice humans had was ‘what religion’? it is a matter of which religion was the most aggressive, and after that factor, the most appealing. The ‘savior’ part made it ‘appealing’, but ‘aggression’ was still the major factor. Christianly may have been appealing before Constantine, but it was not aggressive until he brought the military power of the Roman Empire behind it.

‘Christianity’ and ‘the Roman Catholic Church’ are two very different things. Christianity had very little traction in the world until a certain Roman Emperor saw his empire in decline, realized that military power alone would not keep it strong. What he needed was a borderless, stateless religious empire, with this mythical God as his power source, so he appropriated the Christian religion, made himself the leader (Pope) of it, and used religion, not military power, to control the people. To this day, the Roman Empire and the power of the Roman Emperor to rule all mankind continues under the guise of the Holly Roman Catholic Church. It has very little to do with Jesus Christ, and everything to do with the perpetuation of the dominance of the Roman Empire and the dictatorial authority of the Roman Emperor.
