  • It’s pretty funny to me that the criticisms that were made about millennials are now made verbatim against zedders without a shred of irony or memory. It’s like boomers completely glossed over the fact they were saying millenials are spoiled, want everything handed to them, can’t hold down a job, and they are now saying the exact same things about zedders while millenials, now that they are all grown up, have become part of the mainstream I guess and are not the topic of any criticism anymore.

It does give a definition: that there is none (lack of a definition is a definition). This is pretty clear if you read the whole page. Authoritarianism is just trying to distance itself from authority because all states wield authority in various ways, and so a word was created to separate the two and criticize the socialist bloc that also wielded authority, like the west did, but their authority was bad you see, not like ours which is good.

But why am I saying this; you didn’t read the page, you’re not gonna read this either.

In fact nobody has ever really been able to articulate to me why authoritarianism is bad beyond “I want my freedom”. It just inherently is undesirable, don’t ask too many questions, just accept it.

  • It doesn’t matter what you intended to do. You ended up defending Finland’s decision. People are not going to pour over your background and study your life in details to say “NateNate60 is a swell guy”. They’re going to read your previous comment and say yeah, you defended Finland banning communist symbols because they allied with the nazis 80 years ago and are still salty about getting their ass handed to them when they joined in the siege of Leningrad.
