I would like to have someone installing the thing who is motivated like the folks in the article. Motivation=good work=probably an efficient system. But these seem to be hard to come by here.

During last winter gas heater servicing I told the plumber to set the unit to 50°C heating water output so I could check if the heaters would get warm enough with a heat pump. 1,5 hours of discussion about old buildings and heat pumps resulted till he complied.
It was just a test setup that could be reverted any time.
“These installers are reaching astounding levels of efficiency by taking extra care to design low-temperature heating systems that warm rooms without using excess energy.”
I’d at first really like to find a plumber that does not look at me as if I was an alien creeping out of mud when I tellem that if the central gas heater breaks down completely I want a heat pump. There’s really hard conservativism in that business here.
Middle of the night, semidarkness, walking to the loo. Looking up…
Interesting thought. I think most issues stem from bigot assholes who consume the produce but are not allowed to due to their background/upbringing/social “norms”. And those within their normative set not willing to provide, because of the same background/upbringing/social context.
Also, w/o currency there will be other forms of compensation, like a certain amount of work time, or… (p.e.) a handful of apples… due for a certain set of services.
Additionally there is always a percentage of plain idiots who would socially not be able to ascertain this kind of services w/o paying, and these seem to need to demonize the servicer to feel better about themselves.
Sry if I busted this comment, brain is fried after work.
The Majesty Gold HD Edition is currently on sale at GOG btw.:
Would you share why you only scan at night? I think currently I have autoscan enabled to switch channels every hour, day and night.
Thy already wrote this will not be powered on 24/7, just lean back and enjoy the pics and story :-)
I also noticed slow dl speeds some weeks ago, and had to restart the download. Nearly did not install it out of growing frustration. But it worked out in the end.
So, what is nuclear?
" The material is not the root cause, rather inadequate roof maintenance, which permits water infiltration, and decisions by building owners as to repair or the replacement of existing roofs, which is a part of cost-benefit analysis."

Good choice on the machine, and apparently on the girlfriend, too!
You can find it on ebay, probably much cheaper.
LCD display.
This looks beautiful, good job.
Kewpie hits the dish soap very hard with me.
Thank you for that information. It’s a company machine, but if I ever get annoyed enough I’ll try it out. I just f*s my brain that they’re bold enough to change the UI for worse.
tl, did not read all. sry, tired.
“The reality is that while you’ve gotten very good at navigating the operating system that you’ve been using for the past twenty years, very little of that knowledge is useful in GNU/Linux.”
One could add “Or on the next version/release of Windows”, cos they’re breaking that “knowledge” with each new (forced) change on the UI. Yes, I want to right-click on a file and choose “rename” in a context menu, not choose one of a ton of icons, I want excel to open a new instance with a new file, and so on. It kills productivity for me to be forced on these changes.
Is there any other way?
They talked about a distributed file system on their home cluster, without naming ceph.
Just let’s wait a bit. Those folks bringing the money “home” will not last long in their cope cages.
