I’m not saying they were wrong, but effectively making the first king of the USA doesn’t seem like something one should risk the outcome of, no matter how strong your assumption is.

Except that we know for a fact the refs are incredibly biased against specifically one team.
I wish he would use it, but I understand the hesitance to do so. Why would they do this BEFORE Trump is back in and even give Biden the option to use it? Why risk giving Biden a 4 year larger window to use it if he does win? Feels like a trap to me.
I have a lot of trouble considering anything from polls/surveys being accurate, considering in my 30 years, I’ve never been asked for my input on one.
Who are they asking? (No way it’s a curated group who’s likely to answer in a specific way to create drama in the media right?)
This line of thought always amuses me. “It’s democrats faults for not stopping republicans from being horrible people”
Oooooorrrrr maybe it’s republicans fault… for being horrible people?
“It’s the fire departments fault my house burned down, not the guy who lit it on fire.”
So I’m a die hard apple boi as well, but I’ve been getting into Linux a bit lately (to replace my windows machine that was solely for gaming)
I think the main reason I still stick with Apple over Linux for most things is that Linux requires more tinkering.
Every time I wanna play a new game I need to try out different versions of protons until it works. When I need a new software, I have to go google if I CAN have it, how to get it, or to find out what exact version I should use for my distribution, etc.
Linux, as impressed with it as I am so far, is like having an old classic car I’m fixing up. It’s a hobby. I need to dedicate time to learning, maintaining, and optimizing my experience. So it’s great for my hobby of gaming!
My Mac just works when I need it to work, no tinkering, no second thoughts. It’s the boring but reliable modern car I take on long trips. I just use computer, get work done, without roadblocks I have to google derailing me every 10 mins.
I’m all for Linux, I’ve very much enjoyed it so far and will continue learning, but as a “normie” using Linux, the simplicity of Mac is often missed.
Not in the US it’s not…
I think they mean the average person isn’t going to take the time to check 20 different contacts apps in the store to find the perfect one, then do it again with every other basic app on their phone.
They’re just gonna use the default app 99%
My dads iPhone 8 is finally starting to lose some of its battery life. But it’s overall performance is totally fine.
I think a lot of people forget that most humans doesn’t need 100000000000gb of ram and 20trillion gbs of storage.
I’m using 65gb of storage, including the os… on my baseline 128gb model.
Most people aren’t editing 8k videos on their iPhones lol. They’re sending a text message.
Ooh. Bloodborne too me years due to this…. Better times back then lol 10/10 would suffer again.
Which is called “having sway” haha. They have a big audience. Doesn’t matter how you feel about said audience. They’re there.
For me there are two interesting bits that make the Vision Pro worth watching.
When Apple gets into a new market, others follow. Whether you like apple or not, you have to admit they have sway in the industry. Remember how much wireless earbuds blew up after AirPods came out? At the very least, a big competitor has entered the VR space, which will pressure others to do even better.
More on the apple fan side, it’s rare apple releases an entirely new line of products. And even more rare they take risks. This is risky, and therefore interesting!
IMO, they don’t want to take it off the table. They use drama to stir up their voters. If “they” solve the crisis on the border, now they can’t use the “boarder crisis” as a tool anymore.
Just my guess.
I was someone who always knew about ad blockers, but just wasn’t bothered enough to use them.
I used YouTube SO much that it was worth it to me to have premium.
After all the bitching and moaning from YouTube last year, I un subbed, downloaded free tube instead, and also finally added an ad blocker to both my mobile and desktop browser.
I imagine I’m not the only one with that story haha.
It’s nearly impossible to follow the rules when they are specifically being hidden. No one can keep track of every single rule off the top of their head. That’s why we have things like speed limit signs or no parking signs. Hours of operation for a business clearly posted. Etc.
This law is the equivalent of a road going from 55mph to 35mph, but never telling you with a speed limit sign. Then you get pulled over for speeding because the cop knows it’s 35, but fuck you, go to jail, because you expected there to be a speed limit sign when the speed changed, you know. Like on every other road ever.
The fact that there are 33 pages of outlined rules for this when applying says they intentionally put those rules together so people would follow them. It’s not fair for me to know some obscure rule is missing from the 33 pages of rules specifically supplied for me to follow. That is called deception.
They set an expectation by supplying 33 pages of rules. “Here are all the rules” by leaving one out, you’re intentionally trying to fuck people up with it.
Then there being no place to even put a previous name on the form is just fuckery on top.
“Sorry you wrote you previous name on a part of the paper that wasn’t designated for that, so now we have to disqualify you for following the law. Sorry, it’s just the law /shrug”
iOS 11.3 came out in march of 2018, so nearly 5 years ago, with a menu in the settings telling you your battery’s health, it’s peak maximum performance, and included the ability to disable throttling on your phone if you wanted to.
Like. They did tell people. They literally added a feature to make older phones last longer (so even if your battery was shot, you could keep using your old phone), and people still bitched about it.
Apple doesn’t make their money on selling you a new phone. They make their money by keeping you on iOS. New or old they don’t care. They just need you using their App Store.
Again. I’m not saying apple isn’t classic evil big business. But this one ain’t on them. Either people were gonna bitch and sue because their batteries “are dying earlier then they should” or were gonna bitch and sue because “my phones being slowed down”. Physics says you can’t have both.
Is this the one where people were suing apple because batteries in old phones weren’t lasting long enough? So in response, apple started throttling older phones CPU’s… to make the batteries last longer… then got sued for that as well?
Apple ain’t perfect, and I say that as a total sheep who would buy a rock if they made one.
But I feels like most cases against them are just people saying “hey apple has money… AAHH UUUMMMM your phone is too big for my hands to hold and that’s discrimination!gib money now!”
At least when I open up Mac OS, it doesn’t show me a pop up ad telling me how XBOX CONTROLLERS COME IN SO MANY COLORS NOW click here to buy.
I’ve gotten that pop up the last 3 times I’ve booted up my windows machine.
Windows is great for gaming. But it’s the only thing I turn that machine on for.
I too was playing by the rules with premium for years. It was great. Then they gave me an ad for paramount plus even though I was playing for no ads.
I switched to freetube and haven’t gone back since.
They had my money. But they got too greedy and pushed a paying customer to the dark side.
Even more, people should be ENCOURAGED to change. One thing that most politicians lack is the ability to reassess a position, and come to the conclusion that they were wrong.
If you blame someone for changing their mind on a position, you just encourage them to dig their heels in deeper and not be open to new information and ideas.
I know that’s what all our Lemmy lawyers are saying. But I’m pretty confident SCOTUS would find a way for rules to apply to Biden that weirdly wouldn’t apply to Trump.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see him try. I’m just saying if I was in his spot, I wouldn’t immediately jump in assuming everything will just be “that easy”.
You should at least sleep on it once or twice before you do something as drastic as everyone wants.
