“Having to pee all the time” is more of a diabetes thing than alcohol.

Without a doubt, but if “I’m having to pee all the time” is your only symptom, I’d worry about a dozen other things before straight blaming alcohol intake (provided you are not constantly intoxicated as alcohol is a diuretic). Do not get me wrong, if you think you are drinking too much you almost certainly are, but alcohol abuse disorder should show up in a ton of places before getting to kidney damage levels. In fact, the opposite is significantly more worrisome: If you drink too much and have a sudden reduction in amount of urine, that’s the big alarm bells for Acute Kidney Injury.

Diabetes is not the only thing that makes a body need to urinate a lot.

Alcohol is toxic. It hurts your liver. Your liver is a filter for toxins. If someone is drinking too much for the liver to keep up with they will need to pee a lot.

I’m speaking from experience, letting people know it’s a thing. Don’t “actually” a positive message. Go back to Reddit with that bs.

Your liver isn’t what makes you urinate, mate. That’d be the kidneys, and saying “If you’re peeing too much, just drink less alcohol” rather than “go get a checkup and make sure you’re not developing diabetes like 1/3 American adults is… Not as helpful as you think it is.

AcHTuALLy…Sorry I didn’t go down the entire checklist of how the body processes alcohol and every single thing to do if you drink too much.

You’ve been a huge help. Really contributing to the conversation here.
