In a bid to help protect elephants and rhinos amid plummeting biodiversity worldwide, Canada has banned the import and export of hunting trophies containing elephant tusks or rhino horns.
Idk maybe it was allowed to import old ivory from when it wasn’t illegal to kill these animals. Probably didn’t stop the poaching because you can claim it’s old ivory. Says it’s still allowed with a permit for museum or scientific research.
