yeah that doublecoat is insane. One thing that drove my wife and I nuts is in extreme cold our old goldens response was wanting to hunker down. It was like, just use the bathroom! the house is heated! If the golden is comfortable we are freezing our buts off.
It’s all the hair! When I had a pit bull, she was so “naked” with her short fur and no undercoat, she was constantly cold.
