I have a Pixel 8 Pro and when I download something I can’t see the download speed in the notification bar (Download Manager) only the %.

Is there any way to show/see the download speed in Android 14 when I’m downloading?

I have things download using something like ADM (although there might be a better app). You have a lot more control over the download. You can see (and limit) the download speed, download multiple files at once, use threads, etc.

The built-in browser downloader always annoyed me because it would have some kind of issue, and then I’d have to go and open the webpage again to download it again.

Seconding this. You can use a custom download manager (and you’ll gain more features at the same time, like multipart downloads etc…).

I’d recommend Aria2App. It’s an open-source app based on the open-source aria2 CLI download utility.

The only slightly annoying thing is that for your download to be handled by Aria2App, you’d need to long tap on the download link in your browser, select “Share” and then choose Aria2App from there, but that’s IMO a very small price to pay for all the convenience that you get.
