I avoid US crap as much as I can. And definitely not food now they’ve gutted the safety checks.

I live on the border and I will never cross it again.

It’s too bad our government doesn’t seem to share this stance. There seems to be more and more cases where they use ‘elbows up’ type marketing messages, while implementing an ‘elbows down, cheeks spread’ set of practices.

Was just looking at some of the govt sector mandate letters for 2025, and… while tariffs are mentioned, there’s no real direction to take action.

Like in BC, Eby and them attempt to paint themselves as pro Canada, only to issue these lame-duck mandate letters to gov regulators/industry. An example? The closest the BC FSA (financial regulators) 2025 mandate letter comes to the subject is prolly with this line:

In the current economic and fiscal context including the threat of U.S. tariffs and other global economic challenges affecting British Columbian families, your organization is to work with ministry staff to review all existing programs and initiatives to ensure programs remain relevant, efficient, sustainable, grow the economy, and help keep costs low for British Columbians.

Note that the ‘actions’ directed in the second half of that line, don’t actually address the threat noted in the first half. There’s no push to distance from US tech companies; so long as they’re cheap, sovereignty be damned.

The BC financial regulators are fully entrenched in Microsoft products / American cloud systems. So the regulator of one of our “Critical Industries” can’t perform their duties without paying a subscription to a US company. Totally sounds like we’re a sovereign nation to me…

I love when you guys comment, it makes it easy to tag you so I can avoid reading your nonsense in other subs.

I am curious what app are you using that you can tag someone? Or is it just a mental tagging, where you will just ignore them? After reading the article and this response and some of their other comments I think I would like to tag them, but I cannot seem to find a way to do this on voyager.

I’m answering late, and at least one other person gave the answer, which is Voyager.

The tagging is great because you can make a note about user (positive or negative) and you’ll see that come up in any comment they make.

For instance, I can tag a user with a red “Avoid - Troll” and I’ll be warned about their propensity to say inflammatory stuff without having to block them altogether.

The trouble with blocking is that you sometimes miss valuable comments that are replies.

In Voyager, click on a username, then on the user feed screen click the three dots in the upper right, you can edit tags from there. They are only visible to you, and only in voyager.

I’m on Voyager (iOS) but the three dots only show Message, Share, and Block User 😔

Edit: Figured it out. You have to enable it in the Settings first

I’m using an app called Voyager and you can create user tags in it. It’s local on your device though.

Just to make you feel rough and the feels I am going to tell you a little about my cognitive and neurological issues. When I was 12 I received a massive brain injury, I was not supposed to wake up from my comma let alone finish grade 8. Much later in life Epilepsy would become part of my life, I got an MRI done as I was walking into the neurologists office there was an intern looking at my MRI they quickly closed it and said “oh I must be looking at the wrong file.” I laughed and said yeah probably not.

I have the cognitive faculties to get a Bachelours degree and to have a vague understanding of what my brain looks like with my MRI. The most recent fMRI I did I got to see my squiggly lines over the course of 48 hours and had the mental ability to have a very basic understanding of what the lines meant. I have the ability to ask when I do not know something and not to be insulting to someone when they are asking questions about how to do something.

There was so much crap on that shitty site I couldn’t read the story.

The story loads just fine, and can be read effortlessly.

This sounds more like a deficiency or cognitive impairment on your part.

Sounds like a poor setup on your part made an easily readable story hard to read.

but thanks for taking a shot at people with disabilities, you must feel like a hero.

You should absolutely be ashamed of yourself for attempting to hang a “takes shots at the disabled” accusation on me.
