I think it’s important to downvote them and even make them feel unwelcome. You can’t let Nazis and white supremacists in your communities because any community that doesn’t kick out Nazis will eventually find itself overrun by Nazis fleeing communities that kick them out.
You don’t need to argue or make a fuss, but make sure to downvote anyone who doesn’t believe all people are born equal and that people have a right to choose what to do and who to love.
People downvote me all the time and I just think “well they’re wrong, I’ve laid out my argument and they can’t refute it”. So I imagine Nazis feel the same way when you downvote them.

People are still afraid to publicly (internally?) support Republicans, even though our CEO has endorsed them and we’ve hired some right-wing politicians for various roles

The first “couple”? I see the porn subs that we defederate because the admin doesn’t want to risk legal liability. There’s the one tanky instance that they defederated before later deciding not to defederate tanky instances. There’s the spam Reddit resharing instance. There’s the two instances mentioned in this LW post, which seems to indicate it’s about illegal content, not political alignment. That just leaves exploding heads, which was right-wing, but gave up hosting at all after everyone defedded them, and hilariouschaos.com. That one, I don’t know, so I’ll take your word that it’s right-wing. But that only leaves one, not a couple.

I do think anyone on Lemmy is probably smarter than anyone on Reddit. I was browsing a conservative sub today and while they were very few comments, most of them disagreed with the general direction of the Trump administration.

- the affirmative actions to be removed,
- laws to be made gender neutral,
- freebies to be removed (which is given to the uneducated low earning people because they are the votebank),
- to increase the funds in higher education govt institutions,
- DEI should be removed from job hirings,
- and there should be a test for civic sense for the ones who are applying for passport in india

People don’t work like that, we are all different and we should account for all diversity. You think “uneducated low earning people” should not get free shit but because they can be bribed. I don’t know if you don’t understand the situation but in india shit is complex. There have been interviews of people living in slums, they say they are making more children to get a little more money from the govt (from the scheme which was made for educational purposes of lower income households), some of them are regularly caught to be begging instead of doing some work (specially the ones who are fully fit and fine).
You know why it’s like that? Because most of them got the bread and circus and they don’t want anything more.
The govt doesn’t even care about the poor and handicapped people tbh, because they get less seats from the affirmative actions. The so called oppressed groups “STs/SCs” get it.
Recently I gave an exam, the cutoff for general category is 94%ile but for ST it is 49%ile. Just look at the difference

Would you believe in a system where you are confined in your cast (or for any other countries, general poverty), where you need to slave just to survive? We need to stop thinking about people in terms of good vs. evil. We are surviving machines, we do what profit us and make us last long, good or bad doesn’t matter. Governments should account for that and give everyone the same OPPORTUNITIES and bridge differences with empathy and understanding.
