This is what bugs me about Tyson the most.

He has almost a meme celebrity status, he is in the hangover,he appears in rap videos, he was on comedy central roasts… and he is a rapist.

Now if he wanted to stick to boxing and boxing related things, where he was an undisputed legend I’d be fine with it. Its not like he has marketable skills beyond that.

I’ve seen billboards for one of those “Have you been in a motorcycle/car accident?!” law offices and it’s one of the lawyers squaring off with Tyson.

I’ve had so many questions: Did Tyson actually agree to do that? How much did they pay for him to do that? Is this law office illegally using his image? Do these offices usually have these kinds of celebrity-endorsement funds just lying around?

And then, it’s like, why Tyson?! Like, yeah, he’s probably one of the most well known boxers, but… He’s a rapist, and when someone asks me to name a celebrity to endorse lawyers, the first name that comes to mind isn’t “Mike Tyson, obvi.”

It’s just so weird all around.

People get meme crazy and start to kind of confuse the person with the memes. I remember back when Biden was VP I found all the Nice uncle Joe memes to be weird. And I’d get downvoted for saying it. I never liked his record before becoming vp due to the drug war and police militarization he assisted. I wonder sometimes if that meme status helped him get elected despite that.
