Great now we have a latent copy of the one ring in the transporter buffer.
And the capability to create as many copies of that ring as you want, actually.
Just one copy of “the one ring” would cause chaos. Now, imagine a hundred million of those fuckers on the open market! While some of the immediate side effects might be a bit weird, but it seems like the entire system of control might collapse fairly quick.
Leak a copy of the transport buffer to China, while we are at it, and we should be seeing those show up on EBay for $1.99 in about a week or so.
It’s no so precious any more, is it??
Surely nothing bad will ever come from this…
“One buffer to rule them all!”
And bind them…
It reminds me of this classic: https://youtu.be/1yqVD0swvWU 😜
The transporter wouldn’t be able to disassemble the one ring. In universe, my assumption is that they wouldn’t even be able to get a sensor lock on it.
Probably couldn’t transport anyone carrying the ring either.
I bet B’elanna could lock onto it. She’d do like a mithril lock or something. It’s like a skeletal lock but for dwarven jewelry.
Alternative solution: They collect a sample of lava from Mt. Doom and dump it on Bag End.
Oh poor Frodo.
Could they teleport lava?
My man Hemmer sure could.
The eagles only couldn’t be used because they are only capable of sub-orbital flight. The Eye of Sauron can only see inside the atmosphere.
Soon:
Thanks to the transport bufferAfter all, Why shouldn’t I?
It would be interesting if the ring ever made its way onto DS9 and into Quark’s hands. Everyone would wonder why he’s obsessing about a ring made of worthless gold.
Data would never misspell successfully
LOL WTF did I just watch?
Yes.
Some classic internet, that’s what.
Alternately it could be called “Frodo dubbed over”
