It is possible to estimate?

I dropped reddit for sure, but can’t say I’m exactly an avid Lemmy user. There just isn’t enough things I’m interested in. I pop in every once in a while but I’ll probably drop this too soon. I have absolutely no idea how I will even get any news, since I don’t watch tv, and that kinda scares me. On the other hand, I started reading books again, which I hadn’t touched ever since I became a redditor

Exact same situation here. I need to find a reliable news aggregation service that curates the important stories of the day.

You could set up an RSS feed and scroll through. Some news orgs also split it up by topic.

I tried a few, but the problem isn’t the rss feed, but rather the news websites themselves. Most stuff is either corpo garbage, clickbait, or just plain irrelevant to me. Sites like reddit at least gave that little bit of filter so that the most egregious crap would not reach my feed. It wasn’t perfect, but it worked.
