Trudeau really is a reprehensible POS. It honestly becomes tempting sometimes to reconsider abstaining from the vote altogether, just to vote Poilievre as a protest vote- but I have enough of a conscience, plus I’d be on the crosshairs for way too many reasons (trans, ethnic Chinese, commie, technically an immigrant, etc), to do that.

Well, unless the NDP actually replaces the Liberal party and becomes a good contender, oof…

Then again, the NDP has been co-opted to hell,

Honestly, this situation makes me feel I just want to feel change as well, even if it means voting Poilievre…

Pretty much. Mainly this situation has made me realize that I want to leave the country, partially (moving myself, but visiting often perhaps) if not wholly as I suspect I’ll always be tied down here in some level- I have family and friends here, and I’m part of a polycule (of 3, but still), etc.

If I were American, or not tied down in various ways, I’d be seeking to leave even more urgently- but as-is I suspect having an out will already be deeply important for the future, because I expect things might become outright dangerous in time for people like myself- but also, because this country is headed towards economic and political turmoil and destruction on so many levels, and frankly even if I didn’t tick all those boxes I’d consider it a good idea to get the hell out for those reasons as well.
