The former first lady died last week at the age of 96.
This is in a way sad and in a way extremely touching. Sad is obvious, but I find the “I’m not hanging out here without her” just heartbreakingly sweet. He’s gonna die right after her funeral because, why shouldn’t he?
My wife and I are coming up on thirty years and I genuinely don’t remember life without her.
Congrats. My wife and I are on the way to 14 and I can’t imagine a life without her.
That actually is a real thing. Sometimes when one long term partner dies, the other quickly follows with no explainable cause. Like a man who gets yearly physicals and no history of heart problems dies of a sudden heart attack with in a month of his wife dying, that sort of thing.
Look up heartbreak syndrome it’s sweet and sad

I knew about it, but it’s honestly one of the saddest and sweetest things I’ve ever heard. To be that in love with someone, it’s really incredible.
Same here. It just wouldn’t feel right - like how far is this car going to roll after half the wheels fall off?
It just becomes a motorcycle…didn’t you see The Dark Knight?
Other attendees on Tuesday will include President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris… …former first ladies Laura Bush, Michelle Obama and Melania Trump…
Odd to see this name show up. At least her husband won’t be there to try to make it about himself.
I’m not surprised. She had grace. Rosalynn Carter was consulted about the invitation list for her funeral, and it was her decision to include Melania Trump.
Inviting all living FLOTUS to attend the funeral of a former First Lady is a long standing tradition. But, Melania better mind her manners, as there are at least two in that crowd that would have no problem straighten her out.
Melania “who gives a fuck about Christmas” Trump and "had grace’ do not belong in the same sentence.
I had the same instinct but I think they meant Carter had grace!
On second reading, I think you’re right. I’m just regarded
We all have our regarded moments!
The Lannisters send their retards.

Campaigning. I’d imagine she cares less about awkwardness and more about wanting to be seen as one of them.
Besides, she’s married to an 80 year old ape, and all the countless shit that definitely happening with him behind clothes doors. Her whole existence is awkward, she’s used to it by now.
She doesn’t really care, does she?
Some of us do care. And she doesn’t belong.
Every now and then I seem to develop some sort of sympathy for her. It’s painfully obvious she’s a trophy wife, and she didn’t sign up for any of this political bullshit. It’s equally obvious she’s just in it for what she thought was the money. She signed up to sit around, fuck an old man for a few years until he died, and life a posh life sleeping with the bodyguard or doorman to keep herself entertained until he did.
His foray into politics, and I think, winning the Presidency is probably her worst case scenario. I take her “I don’t really care…” sweater at face value – she doesn’t care. She didn’t want it, she doesn’t care about it, and she kind of just wants to go back to being a pretty face whose name you can’t quite remember.
Then I remember she not only enabled her husband, but actively supported him during his Presidency. Fuck that bitch. She made her choice, even if it’s for silly reasons.

I fail to see how this merits sympathy, with or without the context that she married Trump. No one that has this mentality, be they male, female, or otherwise, deserves sympathy. Marrying someone for their money alone is a flat out shitty thing to do.
Like, I’m all for acknowledging that women are often trapped in marriages with shitty husbands and get dragged along on their bullshit against their will, lest they lose their financial support.
I get it. Even the seemingly powerful women are sometimes victims.
But that doesn’t even begin to apply here. Especially not for her, because once you add the context back, you have to deal with the fact she married Trump and not some other wealthy fucker.
You don’t stumble into a relationship with Donald Trump only to find out he’s kind of an asshole after the ring is on.
She choose this man. She lost all sympathy the day she made that choice.
Trump has not been a walking tumor for only the last 8 years.
It’s painfully obvious she’s a trophy wife, and she didn’t sign up for any of this political bullshit.
Really? My theory always was that she is the Russian handler assigned to make sure he doesn’t lie and renege on any of his promises to Putin the way that we all know Trump absolutely would if he didn’t have a handler.
Also, he will be stopping along the way to help build a house.

I don’t think Melania is a complete piece of shit. Shitty by osmosis to be sure, but not a naturally occurring quantum singularity of suck like the family she’s surrounded by. The woman has had to do a long laundry list of unsavory shit to survive and come out as best as she could. I just can’t fault her for that.
