How… does that work? Did they just desolder the old one and solder a new one on there? Aren’t there like, a ton of nerves that connect your eyes to your brain?

Presently, the transplanted eye is not communicating with the brain through the optic nerve.
Still very impressive. I wonder if vision can be restored in near future, that would be amazing.
So it’s just an organic glass eye?
I kinda hoped for a high voltage eye, but this is also cool.

tldr: nothing special was done with the nerve and the doctors are fairly certain the eye will never be able to see
