Sounds awesome. My ideal retirement is finally getting to work on all these project ideas and hobbies, road trips, travel to more countries, time for friends and getting more fit, stuff like that.

I lost a friend a few weeks ago and it got me thinking that maybe I need to figure out a way to “retire” – or live my dreams – early instead of dying in my mid 50s like him. Another friend also died around the same time but he was in his late 60s and often traveled the world even though he didn’t retire. Although his life at home was way too lonely. My mom retired after a lot of years and finally traveled …for only a few years before Parkinsons got the better of her. Never made it to the one place she wanted to visit. Life is way too short.

At the very least connecting with people, something I have always struggled with, makes life more worthwhile even if you’re slogging away.
